If you love Fish & Chips, then you’ll love The Atlantic’s take of Fish and Chips on the water.
Set up next to The Atlantic restaurant you’ll find a rustic Fish & Chippery that offers up more than just your standard fish & chips.
Melbourne Food Finds and I headed there to check it out, and we weren’t disappointed. We were served by Erin, who was extremely friendly and bubbly. Plus with The Atlantic Group comes the family & sharing vibe which I absolutely adore.

First up we tried the Salt & Pepper Squid. The squid of course was tender. Even though this is on the “Share, Don’t Be A Shellfish” portion of the menu, I could happily eat a plate of these to myself (Sorry Noah!). Additionally the Soft Shell Crab was nice and crispy on the outside, and soft in the inside. Surprisingly though, neither dishes were oily so that helped reduce the guilt on my part.

Next up we tried the Soft Prawn Taco (w/ prawn cutlets with salad of grilled corn, carrot, cucumber, iceberg lettuce, avocado sauce and lime dressing and Miso Marinade Rockling Fillet Bun (w/ asian slaw, miso yuzu dressing, served on a squid ink brioche bun). I’ve never had a Prawn Taco before (personally, I’m a beef taco kinda gal), but I actually really enjoyed it. Something to note is that all the seafood they use is super fresh, and that is definitely noticeable. These prawns were big and juicy.

I cheekily also made sure to get oysters. Luckily for me, Noah doesn’t like oysters so I got them all to myself. Freshly shucked oysters are probably one of my guiltiest of pleasures. So delicious!
Lastly, we made sure to get some fish and chips because, what is a fish and chippery without amazingly crisp and piping hot beer battered chips.
It was a relaxing afternoon spent enjoying the freshest seafood by the water… you can even have yourself a beer and glass of wine. Cheers to that!
