Percy’s Aeroplane is a charming little cafe situated in Kew, VIC.
Now I’m not from the Kew area and hadn’t heard of this place before, yet every time I told a friend “Oh, I’m going to check out Percy’s Aeroplane Cafe this weekend!”, it had turned out that everyone had been and were raving about it. Looks like I’ve been living under a rock for the past 5 years. HAHA.
When I got to the cafe, they weren’t wrong! It was clear there was a theme, being Percy’s Aeroplane, but it wasn’t overkill either. Just enough character and quirk without being too in your face.
I also really enjoyed the rustic vibe and the concept of producing honest food with the best ingredients. They offered all day breakfast & lunch which got me metaphorically fist pumping.
One thing you’ll notice is that the menu has a huge focus on just being real. Offering tantalising food options, that are both filling and down to earth. A lot of love and care is being put into every dish that comes out, and there is something honest and real about it.
Normally I’d opt for a meaty option, but I was seriously craving something on the healthier side. I ordered the Pumpkin Stack and Noah (@Melbourne_Food_Finds) ordered Mr Percy’s.
I loved the rustic vibe of the plating. It was the perfect sized serving to make sure you’re stomach is full, giving you the energy to take on the day.
After seeing everyone’s order come out, I also wish I had ordered Percy Thyme because I absolutely love mushrooms, but in the end everything was delicious.
Of course, no meal is complete without a fresh latte. Percy’s serve full bodied speciality small-batch roasted coffee, and boy was it delicious!
I highly recommend checking Percy’s out, great place to show friends and certainly very welcoming. Special thank you to Ricky (@Forksake), Lauren (@FoodieMelbourne) and Cynthia (@ThePlateProject) for sharing this place with me!
I look forward to going back.
Take care and stay fabulous!
