10 Things You Should Know About the 2018 Porsche Cayenne

The launch of the new Cayenne performance SUV is here, with even better versatility and upgraded technology.

Here are some key details you need to know…

  1. IT’S NEW

Newly developed third generation. New Chassis. New Interior. New Technology. New Engineering. New.

  1. EVEN BETTER AT ‘HANDLING IT ALL’

Treat it like an SUV. Treat it like a sports car. It’s yours, and what you do with it is completely up to you.

The best of both-worlds, without having to compromise. Offering the dynamic driving of a sports car, comfort of a touring car, plus outstanding offroad capabilities.

  1. INCREASED PRACTICALITY

Fits 5 adults and their luggage comfortably. Rear bench seat can be moved as needed to increase to the luggage space to up to fit up 100 litres in volume.

Plenty of storage space plus a number of USB charge ports and 12V sockets to keep your electronics charged and ready to go.

  1. IT’S LIGHTER

Weight savings of up to 65kg, achieved thanks to it’s new lightweight body construction made up of aluminium and steel.

  1. POWERFUL THAN EVER

New 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission across all 3 variants, plus a choice of the new V6 or V8 petrol engines, pushing out 250 kW (340 hp), 324 kW (440 hp) or 404 kW (550 hp).

  1. INNOVATIVE CHASSIS SYSTEM

The Cayenne has mixed tyres and rear-axle steering (similarly to the 911) plus three-chamber air suspension and electic rolling-motion compensation. This means an increase in comfort and sportiness- reducing body-roll- keeping your car centered and gripped on the road. (Feels like you’re driving a 2-seater sports car! Not a large SUV.)

  1. IMPROVED BRAKING SYSTEM (BETTER DECELERATION)

The newly developed Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB) with tungsten carbide coating delivers improved responsiveness.

  1. WORLD FIRST-ADAPTIVE AERODYNAMICS

Because aerodynamics matter. The Cayenne Turbo has an adaptive roof spoiler and air brake to improve performance and decrease the breaking distance. The Cayenne Turbo is the first SUV in the world to offer this.

  1. ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS & SAFETY TECHNOLOGY

New assistance systems such as the innovative Porsche InnoDrive, the adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Change Assist and Night Vision Assist for improved driver and passenger comfort and safety.

  1. LOADS OF NEW TECH. FULLY NETWORKED. FUTURISTIC COCKPIT.

The Cayenne is jam-packed full of new technology. Things like: new functions, new services, new apps, with Porsche Connect Plus.
Part of the standard equipment for the new Cayenne range includes LTE telephone module with integrated sim card, online navigation (w/ real-time traffic information) and intelligent online voice control with the new and improved ‘Voice Pilot’.
